Now, I’m not one for glitter. Don’t get me wrong I love the look of it. It’s the fact that it’s a nightmare to get off. Thankfully OPI have released an amazing new product called Glitter Off. It’s a base coat that allows you to scratch and lift off your polish when you are ready to remove it! From the look and smell of it, it seems like it consists of PVC glue or something similar. It paints on white, and dries quickly to a slightly cloudy clear.
Armed with my new basecoat I grabbed one of my new glitters, Rose of Light. It’s a pretty rose gold glitter with pink hologram square pieces in a clear base. I’m loving rose gold at the moment so it appealed to me straight away. I have to say I wasn’t overly impressed with the Spotlight on Glitter range. I felt most of them were dupes for previous OPI glitters, so I picked up two!

The glitter was a little tricky to get even, with a very thick base. Coverage was OK although definitely not what I had hoped it would be. As you can see from the photos, my nails are suffering without a break over the past few months, and are quite discoloured, so I really want to cover that up, not highlight it!
When it came time to remove, I used a cuticle pusher to lift off the lacquer from the top corner of my nail. It slowly started to lift off and peel away! It lasted 3 days before I noticed it lifting naturally, so it’s definitely for a reduced wear length that without the Glitter Off. There were no marks or dents on my natural nail, and the whole removal only took about 5 minutes!
Overall very happy with the product, and will be using alot of Glitter moving forward. In regards to the glitter, will be wearing again, however over the top of another opaque!
Happy polishing
